Denbighshire online library use increases

More people than ever used Denbighshire Library Service’s 24-hour online in September to order and renew books and DVDs.

Readers used the service to request 761 books (36% more than in September 2009) and to renew 1085 loans (27% more).

Joining the library and using the online service is free – you only need your library membership number and PIN. By going to denbighshire.gov.uk/libraries you can search the catalogue and order books and DVDs which you collect from the library of your choice, and you can easily renew your loans too.

“Library members say this service is very useful and, as a user myself, I wholeheartedly agree with them,” said Cllr Pauline Dobb, Cabinet Lead Member for Culture and Libraries. “We can order and renew books from home at any time of the day or night. The figures show that more and more people are making use of the service. We are currently upgrading our online library to make it even easier to use and the new version will be going live before the end of the year.”
