A new recycling depot is being launched in Llwydcoed with an official open day for local residents.
The newly created Ty Amgen site is opening its doors to the public on Saturday October 23rd from 9am to 12noon.
The decision to welcome local residents to the site is to allay fears arising from what Council officers believe to be misleading and inaccurate reports concerning the use of the site.
Ty Amgen, which is situated at Tir Ergyd Yard on Merthyr Road in Llwydcoed is a depot for the refuse, recycling, street cleansing and parks staff for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.
Service Director for Streetcare Nigel Wheeler explained: “In order to reassure the public on our aims and use of the site I have arranged an open day to be held on the site so that any residents with any queries can ask them directly to myself or my team.
“I hope that the Open Day will put to rest any unfounded claims made locally about the use of the land which is being utilised by several sections of the Council as a depot.”
The open day will be on Saturday 23rd October,2010 between 9am and 12noon
