Porth Carnival, which continues to grow in popularity every year, returned to the town to celebrate all it – and its communities – have to offer.
The focus of the Rhondda turned to Porth town centre as it was filled with stands, entertainment, , dancing, circus themed parade, music and more.
Local young people were this year given the chance to enjoy costume workshops, thanks to funding made available by the Arts Council.
This meant they could spend the weeks leading up to the carnival making colourful outfits which they then showed off in the parade.
Porth carnival also included a food and craft market, flower show, funfair rides and street entertainment.
It was made possible thanks to support from the Arts Council of Wales, Communities First in Trealaw, Ynyshir and Wattstown, Cymmer, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Porth and District Chamber of Trade and South Wales Police.
Cllr Paul Cannon, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Safer Communities, said: “Once again Porth showed Rhondda Cynon Taf what it had to offer, thanks to the colourful, vibrant and musical carnival.
“We are proud of the gateway town and all that is has to offer and hope the warm welcome and fabulous fun enjoyed by those at the carnival makes them want to return again and again to support Porth.”
