Improved Bus Services Being Introduced

Improvements are being made to bus services throughout the county borough thanks to the financial support of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.

From November 1st 2010 those passengers who use bus services operated by Stagecoach throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf will see a number of improvements being made.

The main improvements are as follows:

  • New link from the Cross Inn area of Llantrisant to Cardiff and the Royal Glamorgan Hospital on service 124.
  • New link between the Woodfield Terrace area of Trehafod and Porth town centre on service 138.
  • Additional journeys during the day between the Coronation Terrace area of Porth and the town centre on service 137.
  • Re-routing of journeys on service 150 in Porth town centre and in the Llwyncelyn area in order to improve reliability and provide an increase in the frequency of buses along Llwyncelyn Road.
  • Re-routing and re-timing of journeys on service 155 in the Ferndale, Pontygwaith, Tylorstown, Wattstown and Ynyshir areas in order to improve reliability and assist with the introduction of a low floor, easy access bus on this service.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, Customer Care and Emergency Planning Cllr Andrew Morgan said: “Thanks to a partnership approach by the local authority and Stagecoach we are able to offer advice and financial support for a number of bus service improvements throughout the county borough.

“Once again this illustrates our commitment to intervening where necessary to enable the best passenger service possible throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf and we are continually listening to users on how best their growing needs can be met. I am sure the introduction of these new services will be greatly appreciated by all who benefit from them.”
