Are you visiting Newport Stadium this Saturday to watch Newport County Football Club? Then the message from Gwent Police is:
“Please remember to park legally and considerately”.
Neighbourhood Officers will be patrolling the area before the match to direct traffic to the appropriate parking facilities as well as issuing fixed penalties to any drivers who continue to park illegally.
Neighbourhood Inspector Ian Muirhead explains:
“We want football fans to enjoy Saturday’s match and to be as safe as possible when visiting the Stadium.
“We also want to make sure that nobody’s enjoyment is overshadowed by a parking ticket.
“Visitors can be reassured that my officers will be in the area to help spectators get to and from the game in a safe and legal way”.
If you are thinking of parking in the area, then please follow these three rules for a fun and fine free afternoon:
● Don’t park on double yellow lines,
● Don’t block the paths for other spectators by parking on pavements,
● Don’t block the road surrounding the ground, as this may stop emergency vehicles and supporters coaches’ accessing the area.
Parking for the event is available at the Stadium, please go to www.newport-county.co.uk for more information.
