As part of an initiative to reduce anti-social behaviour around Halloween and bonfire night North Wales Police have been working with local communities to set up entertaining activities for young people and children.
In Flintshire, under Operation Bang, Police and Community Trust funding has been secured for a number of events including:
- £250 to take local youths to Northop Hall for a spooky nature walk through the woods, Halloween activities and a camp fire feast. The event on Sunday October 31 has proved so popular that children have put their names on a waiting list in case of cancellations.
- PACT funding is also supporting a Halloween party at Bryn Deva School Connahs Quay and the Shotton Residents Association have organised a local disco at St Ethelwold’s church hall October 30.
In the Wrexham area there are also a number of activities including:
- A Halloween disco at Llay Miners Welfare on October 29. The event is aimed at the under 17’s and parents are welcome to attend with younger children. Activities include a fancy dress competition, a display by Llay Street Dancers, mask making and face painting.
