Denbighshire County Council has congratulated one of the county’s schools for winning a prestigious Your Champion award, arranged by Trinity Mirror.
Ysgol Tir Morfa, Rhyl was one of three schools in North Wales nominated in the schools category. The nomination was made anonymously by a parent who wished to express their gratitude for the huge difference the school has made to their child.
At the awards evening held recently at the St George’s Hotel, Llandudno, Ysgol Tir Morfa was named Overall School Champions and presented with a trophy and certificate. Sue Parry, Deputy Head Teacher and Mrs Mandy Lewis, Pupil Liaison Officer represented the school at the event.
Councillor Eryl Williams, Cabinet Lead Member for Education, said: “I would like to congratulate Ysgol Tir Morfa on their success in the Your Champions awards.
“The high standards of education and support offered at Tir Morfa is to be applaued and the fact they have won this regional award is a testament to the commitment and dedication shown by everyone associated with the school.”
