Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has today welcomed a statement from the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board today which clarifies the nature of and process the on-going health reviews in North Wales.
When asked to comment, Darren, who also Chairs the Assembly’s Health Wellbeing a Local Government Committee, said:
‘I’m pleased to see the Health Board making an effort to reassure the public that they will be fully consulted before any changes are made to the configuration of local services.
‘The public meeting I have organised in Abergele on 26th November will provide an further opportunity for the public to hear more about the review process and to express their views.
‘Given the widespread concerns of people across North Wales, it’s good to see that the Health Board is keen to ensure that staff, clinicians and the public are given more time and more information in relation to these reviews.
‘Since these health reviews began, I have been campaigning to make sure that the views of the people of North Wales are heard by decision- makers. The statement today makes clear that the Health Board are beginning to listen.’
