Free Drugs Awareness Session for Abergavenny Parents

Gwent Police along with Abergavenny Youth Service are holding a free drugs awareness session aimed at educating parents about how to spot the symptoms of drug abuse.

The two hour awareness session will be held next Tuesday 16th November at Abergavenny Youth & Community Education Centre, Old Hereford Road and will start at 5pm.

PCSO Craig Gadd from Abergavenny Neighbourhood Policing Team will be on hand to offer advice about drug abuse. Staff from Fusion, a young persons drug and alcohol service and DAFS, a Drug Alcohol Family Support group will also be available to speak to parents about concerns they may have about their children’s behaviour and answer any questions parents have about drugs and their side effects.

The session is completely free and is open to all parents living in the Abergavenny area.

PCSO Gadd explained, ‘Our aim in organising this session is to provide parents with information about drugs and alcohol so that they can become more conscious of their children’s behaviour and spot any worrying symptoms early on.

‘We want to make children and parents aware that help and support is available through a wide variety or organisations and would encourage any parents to come along to this event.
