Edwina Hart, The Minister For Health and Social Services has been questioned by Pembrokeshire Assembly member Angela Burns with regard to the new pilot schemes being put into place across Wales, to address dental care provision.
Mrs Burns is very concerned that none of the pilots are within the Hywel Dda LHB despite the fact that Pembrokeshire in particular is known to have a shortage of dentists and the Trust as a whole has a long waiting list for people.
“We are all very well aware of the long waiting times encountered by people; it is one of the top concerns in my post bag from Constituents”
“All 4 applications from within the Hywel Dda LHB to have been rejected on the grounds that we do not satisfy the criteria of considered applications against set criteria, but looking at those criteria such as deprivation, access, geographical spread I am truly surprised and raised my concerns with the Minister”
