A 27-year-old man has been extradited from Canada to the UK on suspicion of murdering 26-year-old Mohammed Musa Mohamoud, from Butetown, Cardiff on April 18, 2003.
The male suspect was arrested in Canada in July 2010 and, on Friday, November 19th was extradited by the Canadian authorities to Britain. Officers from South Wales Police accompanied the suspect on his journey from Canada to Heathrow airport and then into custody in Cardiff where he is currently being detained.
He is due to appear before Cardiff Magistrates Court ( sitting at Cardiff Crown Court while refurbishment takes place) on Monday, November 22nd at 9.30am .
The family of Mr Mahoud have been informed and are being supported by a police family liaison officer.
