Gower College Swansea student Sian Davies is celebrating after being crowned Ladies Middleweight Taekwondo World Champion.
Sian, who juggles her training with a part time plumbing course at Tycoch and a full time career with the Fire Service, took the title at the recent Championships held in Telford.
In addition to her solo success, Sian was part of the Wales squad who took second place.
“I’m really pleased with my win because I trained so hard, not just physically but mentally,” says Sian, who has practised Taekwondo for the past 12 years. “In 2007 I took home bronze so the fact that I won the title this year is a great achievement and makes me feel my dedication has paid off.”
In the future, Sian intends to focus on coaching and working with young people, passing on her skills to the next generation of Taekwondo champions!
