Fishguard RNLI lifeboat helps fishing vessel

On Friday 19 November the Fishguard-based fishing boat, Southern Star with three crew aboard, lost her steering while working four miles north of Cardigan Island.

The Fishguard RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched at the request of HM Coastuard at 1.30pm to go to the assistance of the fishing boat.

Once on scene the RNLI volunteer crew took the fishing boat under tow for the 17 mile journey back to her base at Lower Town harbour in Fishguard. Arriving alongside the harbour at 4.15pm the RNLI volunteers returned to their base.
