Kind-hearted students from Gower College Swansea have raised £700 for the Children’s Ward at Morriston Hospital.
The students, from the BTEC National Certificate in Children’s Care, Learning and Development course, arranged a coffee morning at the college before braving the elements with a ‘pyjama fancy dress’ walk to Mumbles.
“The students arranged all the elements of the event themselves and were determined to raise as much money as possible for the hospital,” says lecturer Rose Williams.
The students were later invited to visit the ward where they met with Hospital Play Specialist Jan Williams, Lead Nurse for Paediatric Services Eirlys Thomas and Nursery Nurse Lisa Richards and were given a tour of the unit.
