Commenting on the publication of the latest Gross Value Added (GVA) figures showing prosperity levels in Wales remain the lowest of all UK nations and regions, Darren Millar AM, Shadow Minister for the Economy, said:
“Disappointingly, these figures show how Labour-Plaid is failing to take the measures necessary to deliver a more prosperous economy for the people of Wales.
“Welsh Conservatives would abolish business rates for the majority of small businesses in Wales to help them create jobs and boost prosperity.
“It is clear that after more than ten years of being consistently ranked the poorest region of the UK, the stewardship of the Welsh economy needs a change.”
