South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a Road Traffic Collision that occurred at approximately 0757 hrs on Saturday 11th December 2010 at the A48 Eastern Avenue Cardiff.
A 37 yr old man was riding a black Piaggo Scooter east along the A48 Eastern Avenue towards the Llanederyn interchange when it collided with a stationary Ford Transit Tipper vehicle which was stationary at the location following a previous accident several minutes earlier.
Medical staff attended but despite their efforts the male rider died at the scene.
South Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
The Police would like to speak to any person who witnessed the collision or who stopped to provide assistance, or anyone who may have seen the vehicle being ridden prior to the collision and who have not yet given their details.
The carriageway was closed for approximately 4 hours whilst the police conducted initial investigations and recovered the vehicles.
