Dyfed Powys Police Communication Centre staff were recently shortlisted for awards in the West Wales Association of Communication Centres (WWACC) annual awards and are thrilled to have come out on top in three out of four of the categories.
Dyfed Powys Police had the highest number of finalists this year – which is quite a feat considering the high profile and calibre of other companies and organisations who are also members of the Association such as the DVLA, WAG and banks etc. WWACC began 10 years ago, and the annual awards, known as the OSCAS, (outstanding contribution and support) are an opportunity to recognise the excellence staff display in their roles. The following were well deserved winners in their categories:
- Manager of the year – Ian Reynolds, Head of Contact and Incident Management
- Excellence in training award – Karen Marshall, Trainer
- Most promising trainee – Jonathan Jones, Communication advisor
Lynne Goddard and Julie Roberts were also runners up in the Customer Service Advisor of the year award. Although Julie Roberts missed out on the top spot in these awards – she has been shortlisted for the National finals which will be held in Cardiff in the New Year.
Mr Nick Ingram, Assistant Chief Constable of Dyfed Powys Police said, “We are very proud of the staff who have been recognised in these prestigious awards – especially as the standard of the competition was so high. It is testament to the excellent standards our staff are achieving and offering our customers.”
