The Pick Of Pembrokeshire

Great fun were the universal words used by South Pembrokeshire AM, Angela Burns and Ben Stone, Radio Pembrokeshire DJ as he judged the Assembly Member’s Christmas card competition. Ben was asked to pick a winner for Pembrokeshire and a winner for Carmarthenshire from almost 500 entries from primary schools throughout the constituency.

“I visit schools quite often” said Mrs Burns “and one of the things I always look at is the amazing artwork on the school boards. This year I thought it would be more fun to ask the children to design my annual Christmas card and to promote the budding artists amongst us. The entries were amazing and ranged from pencil drawings by the little ones to complex collages by some of the older children”

The sheer coincidence both winner Rose Turton and runner-up for Pembrokeshire Luke Evans come from Tavernspite primary school. “I found this a hard one to call” said DJ Ben Stone “the entries were really great but these two stood out for me”

Congratulations to both Rose and Luke. Their cards can be seen on both Radio Pembrokeshire and Angela Burns’ websites.
