Boxing champion Jamie Arthur proved a real ‘knockout’ when he visited a boxercise class at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre.
The Pontypridd-based boxer, who won for the Commonwealth belt in London on Saturday, October 16, visited the centre at Ty’n y Bryn Park to meet children and class members, giving tips and advice.
Tonyrefail West Ward Member, Cllr Eudine Hanagan, who went along to meet him, said: “Leisure centre staff and customers were delighted to welcome Jamie.”
Boxercise is just one of the classes for people of all fitness levels held every week at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre. It combines fast-moving circuit exercise like skipping with the chance to learn basic boxing punches and footwork.
