A Pontypridd footway has been partially closed as Council staff work to deal with a collapsed wall.
The wall, which supports the footway along the eastern side of Gelliwasted Court, collapsed at approximately 2am on Thursday, December 30 as a result of the inclement weather.
However, it had already been in a fragile condition and the area had been cordoned off by the Council some days previously to protect the public.
Following the collapse, the area has been cordoned off, with alternative pedestrian access to the area from Gelliwasted Grove.
Engineers are currently working on temporary measures to secure the wall, including the removal of a parapet to reduce the weight and also rock netting along the face of the wall to prevent, if possible, further collapse into the car parking area.
Engineers are also working on a longer-term, permanent solution to the issue.
