Apollo plans to go on the big screen

Plans for the major redevelopment of the Apollo Cinema, Rhyl are set to  be showcased at a special screening of the proposals later this month.

It was announced in November that the cinema was in line for a £1.1 million makeover, with an additional £1.5 million made available by the Welsh Assembly Government and Denbighshire County Council.

Apollo has been committed to redeveloping the site in Rhyl for several years now, to align it with their other state-of-the-art sites across the UK. Their plans, which have relied on the local government support and funding, will now enable Apollo to bring together world-class brands like Sony, Costa Coffee and Haagen-Dazs within the development.

It is expected that the development will safeguard 15 jobs at the cinema and create a further 15 jobs.

Members of the public are invited to come along to the cinema on West Parade, Rhyl on Tuesday, 18 January  at 11.30am to see and hear about the developments.

The architect responsible for the plans will present the proposals by showing a fly-through presentation, detailed drawings and exhibitions.  The proposals will remain on display at the cinema until construction starts on 28 February, 2011
