Caerphilly AM Welcomes New Healthy Living Initiative

Labour AM Jeff Cuthbert has welcomed the introduction of a course aimed at encouraging children and their families to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Children in the Caerphilly constituency who struggle with weight problems can learn how to live a healthier lifestyle on the F3 (Fun, Food and Fitness) 10-week course.

The free NHS course involves one session each week to inspire families to take more exercise and to prepare and eat healthier meals.

Jeff Cuthbert AM said: “As Chair of the National Assembly for Wales’ Cross-Party Group on Healthy Living, I particularly welcome this new initiative.

“There’s no time like the New Year as a kick-start toward a healthier lifestyle – the benefits in terms of personal well-being and finances are well-documented.”

The course will also help families shop for healthy foods on a budget.

The next two F3 programmes will start this month and the nearest classes will be held in Bedwas, with another running in Pontllanfraith.
