Appeal following robbery in Prestatyn

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the Aldi store in Prestatyn.

At around 7.41pm last night (Tuesday, January 11), police were notified of the incident during which two offenders entered the store on Meliden Road. One of the offenders remained by the doors to the store while the other approached a cashier. As the cashier opened the till, the offender pushed the staff member and took a quantity of cash. Both offenders have then fled.

The store was open at the time and no one was injured during the incident.

No weapons are believed to have been used.

A search of the area was conducted involving the dog section and the North Wales Police helicopter which proved negative

Police inquires continue today and CCTV is also being studied as part of the investigation.

Both of the offenders were described as wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. The first offender is described as between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10 tall and of slim build. He was described as wearing dark clothing and had his hood up and had his face covered.

The second male is also described as being of slim build and was believed to have been wearing a hooded top, had his socks tucked over his tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the incident. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the Aldi store before around 7.30pm last night ad shortly after the incident.
