Fun for all the family at this year’s Big Garden Bird Watch

In support of this year’s RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch survey, Caerphilly County Borough Council is organising its own bird watching event at Parc Cwm Darran.

This popular annual event is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Countryside and Landscape Service, in collaboration with local voluntary bird groups.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday 29th January, between 10am and 4pm, at Parc Cwm Darran.

Fun family activities will include bird box and bird feeder making, bird walks and bird ringing demonstrations. Information and advice will also be available on garden birds and wildlife gardening, and participants will also be able to get involved in the RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch, which is the world’s biggest bird survey.

Hot refreshments and toilet facilities will be available in the visitor centre café. There is disabled access at the visitor centre and along the lakeside walks. Free car parking is also available.

Entry to the event is free, although donations would be appreciated for some of the activities, which have been organised by volunteers from local bird groups.
