Anglesey Unlicenced drug appeal

Police on Anglesey are warning people to be wary of anyone selling drugs purporting to be Diazepam.

It is understood a large quantity of the unlicenced drug known as Phenazepam could be circulating in the area and being sold as Diazepam.

The tablets are descried as being small and blue and in some cases can be three times stronger than Diazepam, increasing the risk of an overdose.

If used in conjunction with alcohol or other drugs Phenazepam will increase the effects of reduced consciousness and can cause breathing problems.

Police are advising people not to take the drug and to report any incidents where it is being sold.

PC Sharon Pogson said: “There are serious health risks involved in taking this unlicensed drug and we would urge anyone offered the drug to refuse it and to report the incident.

“Anyone who is offered this drug or has any information about where they are being sold is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101, if in Wales, or 08456071001 (Welsh line) 08456071002 (English line).”
