Swansea University students received a ‘helping hand’ from local police this week, as officers proactively issued advice on property safety.
The campaign, which took place in Hendrefoilan student village, Sketty, saw officers visiting every household to ensure that they were secure enough to keep the burglars at bay.
Those youngsters who’d forgotten to lock up received a friendly, if less conventional, wake up call from the cops themselves.
Officers took the time to explain to the students the consequences and dangers of not securing their homes, before leaving them with a few ‘handy’ safety tips.
The campaign is part of a successful and long-term effort by local policing teams to engage with students at Swansea University.
