Budding photographers are being asked to send in their snaps of Gilwern as part of a competition to have photos displayed in Gilwern’s new library.
The competition is being run by Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) who will choose the winning photographs for permanent display in the library. Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre will enlarge & frame the photographs for display.
Louise Wilce, MCC’s Community Focused Schools Officer, said:
“We particularly want photographs that symbolise what Gilwern means to you. It can be views, walks or even somewhere you enjoy spending time.
“Anyone can enter as long as they contribute a photo that shows Gilwern and will make visitors to the library feel at home.
“This competition is part of a larger project that celebrates Gilwern Library’s new home in the town’s Community Education Centre. We have also had the local youth club painting new murals for the centre and Gilwern Primary School pupils have been involved in a mosaic project, some of which will be displayed in the car park of library.”
Photographs must be submitted before Monday 14th September. Submissions should either be e-mailed to [email protected] or sent on CD to:
