Columnist Amanda Platell is pictured with South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns and local Conservative Parliamentary candidate Simon Hart at a dinner held in Slebech Park.
Ms Platell, who writes a weekly column for the Daily Mail and who is a former editor of the Sunday Express and Sunday Mirror, was the guest speaker at the Pembrokeshire Conservative Association’s Patrons Club latest gathering.“Amanda spoke about the rollercoaster period when she was William Hague’s press secretary and he was leader of the Conservative party and she didn’t pull her punches,” said Mr Hart.“It was a great coup to get such a well-known guest to speak to our patron’s group and our members thoroughly enjoyed getting a peak behind the scenes of life at the top of the political tree.”
Forty guests enjoyed the black tie event at the Park restaurant near Haverfordwest. Angela Burns added: “Amanda is famous for speaking her mind and she didn’t disappoint – she served up her opinion on all-women shortlists, the EU and even Strictly Come Dancing!” *The Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire Conservative Association is holding its annual Christmas Sunday lunch at Cresselly House on December 6th.
