Dyfed-Powys Police continue to search for missing 24 year-old Alice Vulliamy.
They utilised anniversary checks in the village – where there were two reliable sightings at approximately 10:30 am on Sunday 6 February 2011 – in effort to ‘jog’ people’s memories.
Following this information from the public last week the search focussed on the village of Llangynidr where Alice lives and the nearby Dyffryn Valley where Alice likes to walk.
Alice is described as white, 5ft 3, with mousy/brown shoulder length hair, wears glasses and of slim build. Although she is 24, she has the appearance of someone much younger.
Extensive multi-agency ground searches have taken place near the River Usk in Brecon since the discovery of Alice’s car at Bridge Street, Brecon on 6 February.
Chief Inspector Martin Tavener of Brecon Police Station said “The response from the public with information has been good and this has led us moving the ground searches to Llangynidr. We are really concerned for Alice and I ask her or anyone else who knows where she may be to make contact with the Police so that we know she is safe and well.”
Police have commented on the dedication, professionalism and commitment of the volunteer search and rescue agencies who have been involved in the ground search who have worked in wet and challenging conditions.
In addition, Alice’s mother realised on the morning of Sunday 06/02/2011 that she was not in her bedroom at 09:00. Her bed appeared not to be slept in. Alice was last seen by her mother when she left to go babysitting the previous night, and there’s evidence Alice had returned home following the babysitting to change her clothes and left her mobile in the house.
Alice left the property she was babysitting at 10:15 pm on Saturday 5 February 2011.
