Opportunity for artists to branch out

Artists are being invited to show their work at an exciting exhibition at the Rhondda Heritage Park this summer.

The indoor and outdoor contemporary art exhibition entitled ‘Inside Out’ will be held at Rhondda Heritage Park from 15 May – 26 June 2011.

Out Yer Tree, an outdoor arts organisation whose aim is to set up, organise and promote contemporary art exhibitions in unexpected locations, are working in conjunction with the Heritage Park on the exhibition at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery in Trehafod.

Brian and Wendy Henley, are co-founders of Out Yer Tree and they curate exhibitions in venues including country parks, commercially-owned gardens and stately homes. They provide an experimental exhibition platform for existing and emerging artists and help to present interesting, engaging and/or challenging artworks to the general public.

This is an ideal opportunity for artists to exhibit in the industrial surroundings of an old working mine complete with its winding gear and original buildings. The modern indoor gallery is housed in a converted building which at the turn of the century was the colliery stores.

Artists may apply to exhibit 3D work in both indoor and outdoor categories and should send up to six images of their work or a sketch proposal, dimensions of their work, a current CV and artist statement to:
