Keep up the Campaign for the Clwydian Range

An Assembly Member used a key debate in the National Assembly this week to keep up the campaign for the Clywdian Range National Park.

Darren Millar, Assembly for Clwyd West, is leading the campaign to see the Clwydian Range designated as Wales’s newest national park. This week in the Assembly he used a debate in the Senedd to call for the Clwydian Range to be given the recognition it deserves with National Park status.

Speaking after the debate Darren said:

“I used the opportunity of a debate in the Senedd to highlight the importance of designating the Clwydian Range designated as Wales’ fourth National Park.

“Not only would National Park status gives the Clwydian Range the recognition it deserves, but the prestige associated with designation would be hugely beneficial for the economy.

Commenting on reports that the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) has this week agreed to proceed to the next stage of extending the Clwydian Range AONB, Darren said:

“I’m pleased the CCW is pressing ahead with the next stage to extend the Clwydian Range AONB. But this still doesn’t go far enough as I would like to see the Clwydian Range designated as a National Park.”
