One of Pontypridd’s main car parks will see vital refurbishment being undertaken this month (28th February) in a bid to improve the facilities for users.
Gas Road car park, which sits in the heart of the town centre will undergo full resurfacing along with the installation of new drainage and re-lining of the existing car parking spaces.
The works carried out will be undertaken in a series of phases to ensure that disruption of the car park is kept to a minimum and operates as normal.
The works are expected to take approximately 5 weeks and will result in a new look car park for visitors.
Councillor Andrew Morgan, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, Customer Care and Emergency Planning, said: “The proposed works will bring important long term improvements to Pontypridd’s main car park and have been planned to minimise disruptions. The car park will remain open as usual during the works, however during this time a small number of car parking spaces may be unavailable so that these vital improvements can be carried out.
“The Council urges residents to bear with us as these improvements are for their longer-term benefit.”
Alternative short-stay car parking can be found at the adjacent Precinct car park, whilst alternative long-stay car parking is available at Berw Road, Goods Yard and Sardis Road.
