Marathon Runners Call for an Unhindered Right of Way

Today (27/2/11), a team of marathon runners will encourage voters to take a firm step forward by voting “Yes” in next Thursday’s referendum.

One of the runners, Aled Edwards, said; “Throughout the 26 mile course we will be calling for a Yes vote to remove the expensive and time-consuming obstacles that slow down the effective running of government in Wales. Within the 20 fields already covered by the course of Welsh government, it’s time to allow the unhindered right of way.”

Reflecting the broad support for the Yes for Wales campaign, Christine Chapman AM, will start the marathon from Llanwonno, the burial place of the Welsh running legend, Guto Nyth Bran. The leader of Cardiff Council, Rodney Berman, will welcome the runners on their arrival in Bute Park.

Grass roots supporters will give their encouragement along the course and join Rhodri Morgan AM, former First Minister, for the final walk down the Taff Embankment to the Senedd for 4.30 p.m.
