THE annual Active Swansea Sports Awards took place at the Brangwyn Hall on Friday, November 20 with over 300 people coming together to celebrate sporting achievements during the last year.
Former Welsh rugby international Stuart Davies was compere for the evening while Ospreys coach Scott Johnson was present to congratulate the winners and hand out the trophies.
The winners of the 2009 Active Swansea Sports Awards were:
* Charterbrook Signs Senior Sports Person of the Year – David Greene
* Enterprise Rent-a-Car Senior Disabled Sports Person of the Year – David Smith
* Enterprise Rent-a-Car Junior Disabled Sports Person of the Year – James Ledger
* Road Safety Junior Sports Person of the Year (Male) – Daniel Van Hooijdonk
* Road Safety Junior Sports Person of the Year (Female) – Hannah Griffiths
* MGM Sports Junior Club Team of the Year – Llangyfelach Girls Under 14s
* Swansea University Secondary School Team of the Year – Bishopston Comprehensive School (Year 9 Boys)
* South Wales Evening Post Coach of the Year – Steve Denty
* LC Primary School Team of the Year – Pontarddulais Primary School
* Active Swansea Senior Team of the Year – Swansea Harriers
* Active Swansea Contribution to Sport – John Williams
* Active Swansea Contribution to Sport – Hayden Lewis
* Active Swansea Contribution to Sport – Jeff Harding
* Active Swansea Contribution to Sport – Viv Gantz
