Clwyd West MP, David Jones, has commended Will Aid on the success of its 2010 campaign.
Will Aid solicitors offered clients the chance of drafting a basic Will free of charge during November. The campaign was extremely successful, raising almost £1.25 million.
More than 1,000 solicitors from all over the UK participated in the scheme, writing Wills for more than 18,000 people and forgoing their usual fee in exchange for donations to Will Aid.
David Jones said:
“I was delighted to hear of the tremendous success of the Will Aid Campaign 2010. It is very encouraging to learn that so many people took the opportunity to obtain an affordable Will, drawn up by a qualified solicitor, in the knowledge that their donations will go to a number of good causes.
“The funds raised will be shared by the participating charities and put to work helping children, families, and older people in whole communities in the UK and around the world.
“Will Aid will be operating again in 2011 and I wish the campaign every success for the future.”
