Principality Building Society to Celebrate Housing Charity’s 30th Birthday

Wales’ largest building society will be lighting the first candle in a series of events to celebrate Shelter Cymru’s 30th birthday this year.

Principality Building Society is sponsoring a special 30th Birthday Dinner in aid of the charity, which has helped nearly 15,000 people in the last year.

The dinner to be held at St David’s Hotel and Spa on Friday 8th April is the first of a number of special events to mark the 30th Birthday.

The three course meal at one of Wales’ finest hotels will be followed by entertainment from Operacatz – a unique duo who perform opera with their own cheeky twist.

John Puzey Director of Shelter Cymru said “Principality Building Society has been an extremely valued supporter of Shelter Cymru for several years now and has backed a number of important projects, so we are really pleased that they getting involved with our 30th Birthday Dinner.”

Peter Owen, Head of Member Services at Principality Building Society, said: “The important role that Shelter Cymru plays in Wales cannot be underestimated, particularly during the economic downturn when more and more people turned to them for valuable support and advice.

“At Principality we share Shelter’s vision that everyone in Wales should have a decent home and, after recently celebrating our own 150 year anniversary, we are delighted to help mark Shelter Cymru’s 30th birthday at this special event.”

A small number of tickets are still available priced at £60. Contact Shelter Cymru on 01792 469400 for more information.

Last year, Shelter Cymru helped around 15,000 people with housing problems and prevented homelessness in 90 per cent of relevant cases.
