Landslip at Pontrhydyfen

The B4287 at Queens Road in Oakwood, Pontrhydyfen is being closed for a short period of time during this afternoon.

A landslip has caused health and safety issues which means that the road will be closed to traffic from 1.30pm and will be reopened as soon as the embankment is made safe.

Neath Port Talbot Council has to carry out emergency works to the rock face but access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of A4107, Pentwyn Road, Afan Road,Brytwn Road,Station Road, A4063, Maesteg Road Pen-y-bryn, Cymer Road, Dyffryn Road, Tonna Road, Talbot Street, B4282, Neath Road,Bryngurnos Street back onto the unaffected section of the A4107 Afan Valley Road.
