Your chance to discuss extending Lôn Las Ogwen

Dyffryn Ogwen residents will have the opportunity to have their say about the idea to extend the popular Lôn Las Ogwen path from Tregarth to Bethesda.

A steering group which includes members from the local community council, local councillors, Council officers and other agencies who have come together to develop the proposal will be staging an open consultation where local residents can express their opinions and ask Gwynedd Council officers and members of the group about the project.

As part of the consultation, an exhibition showing the possible location of the path, but of course there is still some planning work before any developments will get underway.

The exhibition will be held at Canolfan Tregarth on Thursday, 14 April (3pm – 7:30pm). Also, the exhibition will move to Neuadd Ogwen on 15 April (3pm – 7:30pm).

Mark Balaam, Gwynedd Council Senior Countryside Warden said: “The proposal of creating a path between Tregarth and Bethesda is very exciting and as a Council we are very pleased to be working with the community to develop ideas for the development.

“Sustainable travel is very important and we believe that linking the communities of Dyffryn Ogwen with Lôn Las Ogwen would offer great and unique opportunities for local residents.”

If you cannot visit the exhibition on the above dates, you can have a look at the proposals at the Plas Ffrancon Leisure Centre in Bethesda between 16 and 21 April 2011.
