Flintshire County Council’s Licensing Section has prosecuted for a breach of the smoking regulations.
At Mold Magistrates’ Court on Friday, Tim Dillon, representing Flintshire County Council, successfully prosecuted Sylvia Maureen Weaver, the designated premises supervisor of the Prince of Wales Public House, Oak Villas, Leeswood, for allowing a customer to smoke inside the premises, contrary to the Health Act 2006. This is the first prosecution of its kind by the Council.
Mrs Weaver, who is also now the premises licence holder, pleaded guilty and was fined £200 and ordered to pay a contribution of £300 towards the Council’s costs, together with a £15 victim surcharge. The customer concerned was issued with a fixed penalty notice for £50 at the time of the offence.
