The time has once again come to say cheers to the pubs, clubs and bars across Rhondda Cynon Taf that raise the bar when it comes to their licensing standards!
There are scores of premises of all shapes and sizes across the County Borough that offer a safe, enjoyable, safe and respectful night out for residents.
Whether it is great food and a friendly atmosphere for families, great music and a late night license for the young crowd or even just a place to catch up, play darts or pool and raise money for charity, there is a huge variety in RCT.
And that is why Best Bar None has been such a success, celebrating the excellence, innovation and community responsibility shown by licensed premises – regardless of their size, age, turnover or clientele.
Best Bar None is a nationally-recognised standard of excellence and Rhondda Cynon Taf was one of the first local authorities in Wales to introduce the ground-breaking scheme.
Every premise that is accredited can display their Best Bar None award with pride, demonstrating just how much they care about their staff, customers and community, while also reassuring visitors and new patrons they can expect high standards in the premises.
Best Bar None issues accreditation based on the management licensed premises show when it comes to issues such as health and safety, staff training, managing and deterring problems and disorder and more.
Additional credit is also given for those that show a strong community commitment or link, with previous winners securing awards – including the new Community Award – for their knitting clubs, reading groups, charity fundraising and more.
Paul Cannon, Chair of the Community Safety Partnership, said: “We are proud of the excellent standards that are maintained by the majority of our licensed premises, who are committed to offering a great social experience for people of all ages.
“The Community Safety Partnership has taken well-publicised action against a small number of premises that have failed to meet the standards we expect and uphold on behalf of the community, but Best Bar None is about celebrating the many excellent premises across the County Borough.”
