Conservative candidate for Clwyd West, Darren Millar, has spoken out against the Labour Party’s mismanagement of public finances.
Speaking as a Welsh Conservatives ad-van came to Kinmel Bay, Darren said:
“Labour’s disastrous management of public finances has brought us to the brink of bankruptcy.
“After 12 years of Labour governments in the Assembly, Wales is the poorest nation of the UK, while Labour’s irresponsible spending in Westminster brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy.
“Its disgraceful opportunism for the Labour Party to distance themselves from the massive financial deficit built up by UK Labour Governments whilst failing to advocate an alternative to spending cuts.”
Darren continued:
“Labour doubled the national debt and left us with the biggest budget deficit in our peacetime history. We are spending £120 million every day just to pay off the interest on Labour’s debt.
“Voters will have the opportunity to give their verdict on Labour’s record on the 5th May.”
