Burry Port in all night search

On Saturday night at 10:20pm 7 May 2011 the volunteers at the RNLI’s station at Burry Port launched to investigate a report of a red flare in the vicinity of Whiteford Light.

After an extensive search lasting 5 and a half hours involving Tenby all weather lifeboat, Loughor Rescue Boat and coastguard units nothing was found. The search was called off at 3:20.

Due to the length of the call the first crew was relieved after 3 hours and a second crew launched to continue the search.

Crew members involved in the search were Lee Howells, Julian Aston, Hefin Williams, Nick Jones, Neil Roberts, Darren Caines and Andrew Williams.
