The Community Chest opens again

Many of Gwynedd’s sport clubs and organisations have been successful recently by receiving a financial boost thanks to Gwynedd’s Community Chest.

A total of £8,661.76 was shared between 11 sporting organisations in the first Gwynedd Community Chest Panel meeting of 2011. The support from the fund will allow clubs to buy new equipment and give members the chance to go on training courses. From gymnastics to aikido, the Community Chest supports a wide variety of sporting organisations all over the county.

Sally Lloyd-Davies, Chair of the Community Chest panel, said:

“Sport clubs and organisations play a key role in our communities and it’s very important that they receive plenty of support. They give the people of Gwynedd a chance to socialise and learn new skills as well as promote fitness and healthy living.

“It’s a pleasure to share funding from the Community Chest between 11 clubs this time. I’m sure that the financial boost will be of great benefit to them and will attract more people in Gwynedd to participate and to keep fit.”
