Artwork by school pupils from Flintshire is currently on display at the Senedd in Cardiff.
The exhibition showcases work made by Ysgol Glanrafon, Ysgol Llanfynydd and Ysgol Brynffordd in a residency with artist Cefyn Burgess.
Cefyn Burgess’ exhibition will be on display at Pier Head, Cardiff until May 27. Pupils from all three schools, along with artist Cefyn Burgess’, attended its opening on May 10; the exhibition was officially opened by the Chief Executive of the Arts Council of Wales, Mr Nick Cappaldi.
The exhibition looks stunning and is an excellent platform showcasing the creative work the Arts, Culture and Events section of Flintshire County Council do with Flintshire’s schools. The project was developed and coordinated by Trefor Lloyd Roberts, Arts Development Officer.
Gwenno Eleri Jones, Arts, Culture and Events Manager said:
“I would like to congratulate Trefor on devising such an innovative project with one of Wales’ most renowned visual artists and for flying the flag for Flintshire in such an effective way down in Cardiff Bay.”
As part of the Flintshire Artsfest, pupils from Ysgol Llanfynydd, Ysgol Glanrafon and Ysgol Brynford worked with professional textile artist Cefyn Burgess to design and create material collages representing historic buildings in their community.
