Budding artists across Wrexham may be interested to hear of a new event, ‘Art for All’, which will be taking place this half term.
Wrexham Council’s West Wrexham Community Development Team, in partnership with AVOW (Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham), will be hosting the events, which will encourage both adults and children to take part in creating a piece of art.
The art will be displayed at AVOW’s offices, with the winning piece being exhibited at this years National Eisteddfod in Wrexham during the summer.
As well as facilitating both events, local artist Andy Leigh will support the local community in producing a piece of sculpture incorporating the ‘My Wrexham’ theme.
Dave Walker, ‘My Wrexham’ Coordinator said “Having the Eisteddfod in Wrexham this year is a fantastic opportunity and the My Wrexham project is all about bringing communities together to tell the story of what a fantastic place Wrexham is through the creation of art.”
The events are free, and will be held on both Tuesday 31 May at Gwersyllt Resource Centre, Second Avenue, Gwersyllt and on Wednesday 1 June at Plas Pentwyn Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Centre, Castle Road, Coedpoeth.
