A series of collections across North Wales have raised almost £10,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Volunteers were out in force last month in supermarkets, shopping centres, theatres and in street collections to raise the money for the annual Great Daffodil Appeal.
“We want to thank all the volunteers who kindly gave up a few hours of their time and to everyone who donated to such a worthwhile cause,” said North Wales Community Fundraiser Debbie Rowley.
“All across North Wales we have raised a total of £9,667.09. It all goes towards helping terminally ill people to be cared for by our nurses at home. It means so much to them.
“Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil appeal is our largest annual campaign and we take massive delight in seeing villages, towns and cities turning yellow to support Marie Curie Cancer Care.”
Anyone who is able to offer some of their free time to help the charity should contact Debbie Rowley on 01745 352912 or 07798638074 or visit the Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraising Office, Unit W10, Morfa Clwyd Business Centre, Marsh Road, Rhyl, Denbighshire LL18 2AF
Collections were held in Wrexham, Bangor, Flint, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Mold, Caernarfon, Holyhead, Rhyl, Welshpool, Queensferry and Ruthin.
