Angle inshore lifeboat assists motor vessel

Angle RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched, at the request of Coastguards, on Sunday morning (22 May) to assist a man who was having difficulty boarding his motor vessel from a dinghy off Hakin Point in the Milford Haven Waterway.

The D-class lifeboat, Richard John Talbot Hillier, launched into westerly winds of 25 knots and was on the scene in 5 minutes. The lifeboat’s volunteer crew assisted the man in cutting away the motor vessel’s mooring, which had become fouled, and escorted the 17-foot vessel as she made her way to a more sheltered mooring at Milford Pill.

Having taken the man ashore to meet Dale Coastguards, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused, refuelled and ready for service again at noon – 76 minutes after launching.
