Young people are being given the chance to get into the swing of Golf amid the beautiful surroundings of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.
Just weeks after the launch of a junior tennis club that attracted scores of young residents, the golf lessons with a sporting pro have not been confirmed.
Starting on July 2, the lessons will take place in the Pontypridd park every Saturday.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “I am so pleased to see this important sporting opportunity for young people tee-off in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.
“The services of a golf professional have been secured so those aged 16 and under can enjoy expert lesson in the lovely surroundings of the park.
“The junior tennis club that began a few weeks ago has been a huge success, with 60 children turning up for the first session. We hope the golf is also a popular opportunity.”
The lessons run from 9am to 10.30am for five to seven-year-olds and 10.30am to 12pm for eight to 16-year-olds.
Lessons are £2.50 per person and booking is essential. Contact Ynysangharad War Memorial Park on 01443 404699 for more information.
