Queensferry Library is relaunching and is holding a week of events for local residents and school children to come along and see what the library has to offer – and to encourage people to make the most of their local library service.
Queensferry Library is a dual use public and school library, sharing the facility with John Summers High School. Throughout the week beginning Monday 27 June, the library is holding a variety of sessions for the public and for school pupils, including a coffee morning to meet library staff, an IT taster event, a family history session and an introduction to the library for children from Queensferry CP Infants School. Pupils from John Summers High School are also being treated to a graphic cartoon workshop, run by Paul Wilcox of Cartoon Creations.
The week of events aims to showcase the variety of resources our libraries have and what libraries can offer for the local community.
Councillor Nigel Steele-Mortimer, Executive Member for Education, said:
“I welcome the relaunch of Queensferry library. The library is an excellent asset and I hope that the local community will make greater use of this valuable resource. The relaunch gives local residents the opportunity to find out just how much their library has to offer.”
Councillor David Wisinger and Councillor Ann Minshull said:
