Clwyd West AM Darren Millar hailed a ride on a local bus to promote a new bus route in Abergele this week.
The number 21 Llew Jones bus which connects Kinmel Bay with Abergele and Colwyn Bay, now calls in at the Min-y-Don estate in Abergele thanks to a successful campaign led by Darren Millar.
Conwy County Borough Council agreed to add Min-y-Don in Abergele to the local bus route following representations from local residents earlier this year. The new route opened earlier this month.
Commenting on the news, Clwyd West AM Darren said:
‘I’m delighted that Conwy County Borough Council responded positively to my requests.
‘Many of the residents on Min-y-Don are elderly and the walk to the bus stop was quite an ordeal.
‘The new service is much more convenient, will encourage use of public transport and help to promote independence.’
